The story of Ikeanumba Africa magazine is an interesting one. From a round table dinner cum meeting at an elitist Chinese restaurant in Enugu, to this magazine that has within a short time published several editions, convened and hosted an award and gradually becoming a big entertainment hub, as it is set to veer into other arms of entertainment within the industry. This really proves that a dream, no matter how minute it is, can eventually become true.
All it needs is time, dedication and hard work. And of course, have spending power, and that is one reason I constantly commend and admire the publisher of Ikeanumba Africa Magazine, Mr. Ayobanna Ikeanumba. Anyway, enough about us, let us wait for the world to witness our bloom. This edition of Ikeanumba Africa is as usual jampacked with lots of reading goodies. Oh yes, we profile one of Ghana’s finest entrepreneurs and oil sheik as it were, Kelvin Okyere. The financial economy of Ghana is also written in this edition with concerns about the Ghana Cedi and its future vis a vis the economy. The world woke up one morning and witnessed an invasion of Ukraine by Russia, we thought nothing of it, but 3 months down the line the war in Ukraine is as real as the back of our palms. The unfortunate incident about the Russia/Ukraine war is that both countries are big time exporters of food products and natural resources, so their war created an economic earthquake globally.
The fortunate thing is that the Russia/Ukraine war also created massive opportunities for other countries, who export some of thes products but were never big players before now. The smart ones have taken advantage of the war to make huge income into their countries by selling those products to countries that need it, as they have become high in demand. And the not-so-smart countries who have these products and have not taken advantage of the war to sell, are still trying to find their feet. Then in sports, footballers are getting involved in politics as they have come out enmasse to endorse some political candidates, what were their reason, you will find out in this edition. And is that move for good or bad, you will still find out.
Our cover personality is one amazing woman, Margaret Nkechi Moore is an industry expert in the insurance industry, who has climbed the ladder in the industry, and has successfully run her own insurance company for over 15 years now. She is set to become the 14th president of the Professional Insurance Ladies Association, and so we chose to celebrate her win and also showcase the amazing feats women in Nigeria are conquering in the corporate world. Her interview also throws more insight into the workings of the insurance company and why you should be knowledgeable in insurance practices and benefits.
