Africa is on the horizon of greatness, you better believe this. Before now, Africa as a continent has given birth to giants, who have achieved immense feats. But recently, a lot more things have sprung from Africa that amazes the entire globe. All these are made more prominent because of the information explosion we have in the continent and globally.
Musically, African nay Nigerian music has taken over, topping and over-topping the charts, even in countries where they neither understand the ‘pidgin’ language or other indigenous African languages. we have the likes of Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Rema, Tiwa Savage, Tems, Ayra Starr etc, making Nigeria proud and translating acceptance of our culture widely.
And that is also why Nigerians and Africans world over, endorsed and celebrated Chef Hilda Bassey aka Hilda Baci, when she attempted to break the Guinness World Record for Longest Individual Cooking Marathon. The love, support and encouragement was so huge, huge enough to crash the GWR website, lol.
That’s how massive Africans can be when they want to do something, or when they show love or encouragement to anything. So, just like Wizkid and co, who have transported African music to the world, Chef Hilda Baci has also transported African cuisine to the world. And eventually, successfully broke the World Record as expected.
And that is why, she is on the current cover of Ikeanumba Africa Magazine, we celebrate her tenacity, determination and novelty, and of course, we celebrate her win. Africa has been winning, and will continue winning.
