Every edition of this magazine comes with a lot of thought, editorial direction and specific idea of the value of the information we want to put out there. Our mission is simple, we want to provide and promote only good narratives about our dear Africa.
As herculean as this may seem, we have been doing it consistently, and we hope to continue doing it for a very long time.
Our message in this edition is simple, Africa is a fertile ground to develop and grow businesses. Are there challenges in the continent? Yes. Can we surmount these challenges? Yes, we can. Yes, we will.
Once this mission is clear, then every other thing becomes a walk in the park. We were having a very interesting conversation among the editorial team one day, and somehow the discussion, which was centered on the economic state of various countries in the African continent, suddenly veered into how many billionaires that we have in Africa.
Of course, Africa has its fair crop of billionaires, and some of their tales of grass to grace is amazing as it is interesting. Then one of us asked an interesting question. And that was, if we could narrow it down to how many billionaires of a certain age grade do we have in Africa.
Viola! A cover story was born. We all quickly went to work, researching, profiling and narrowing down to those who still had strong, robust and viable businesses. And believe me, the list was many, though some of the information were not readily available, simply because some billionaires like to live very private lives.
However, we did compile quite a list, one we are proud of, I must say. So read to know the various billionaires in some African countries, their many business enterprises and some controversies they had encountered along the way.
And then of course, comes the many luxurious hotels, particularly the 5 Star Hotels in Lagos. This list gives you an idea of their price ranges, their facilities etc. So, it’s easy for you to plan when next you want to stay in a 5-star hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
So much has been happening economically in Africa, which we had said earlier. With the dollar scarcity, being experienced in Nigeria, which has affected the economy badly. Then comes the conflict in Sierra Leone, to the rising inflation in several countries in Africa, to the new tech mafia who have disrupted the technological space, thus attracting international investors into the country, to the depressing ASUU strike which has crippled the university system in Nigeria for several months. There’s so much information in this one edition.
Then comes the cheery news of the Nigerian female athletes and the feats they achieved thus shinning the spot on our dear country once again and some lil bits of gossip in the Titbits pages. I would simply say, this edition gives super value for your money.
NAMASTE
